Altar Server — Youth & Adult

Assists in the celebration of the liturgy. Altar Servers are needed for weekend Masses, weekday Masses, and funeral liturgies. (Note: Interested youth must be in their second semester of the fourth grade or older.)

Art & Environment Committee

Enhances the worship space by using color, form, and layout. This committee works closely with the Liturgy Commission and the Florists. The main efforts are enhancing the church for the Advent/Christmas and the Lent/Easter seasons.

Broadcast Team

Live streams and records Mass and other church activities for those unable to attend in person. Knowledge of operating a tablet helpful but training provided.

Cross Bearer

Carries the processional cross at the beginning and the conclusion of liturgical celebrations.

Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist

Shows reverence for the most Holy Eucharist through the handling and distribution of the consecrated bread or wine at Mass. Eucharistic Ministers are needed for weekend and weekday Masses, as well as homebound and nursing home visits. Training provided.

Florist

Plans, orders, and arranges flowers in the sanctuary. Wedding arrangements are prepared when requested. Assistant florists are also needed.

Greeter

Welcomes those who gather for the Liturgy, monitors the communion procession, collects the offertory, and distributes programs and bulletins. Volunteers are scheduled in one-month blocks every second or every third month.

Lector

Brings the Word of God to life for the congregation. Reads the Scriptures and pre-Mass announcements and recites the Prayers of the Faithful as needed. Lectors are needed for weekend and weekday Masses.

Liturgy Commission

Under the guidance of the pastor, fosters the “full, conscious and active participation of the assembly,” through environmental enhancement, liturgical education, and highlighting seasonal themes. Each member is given liturgical Church documents. Commission meets about once a month.

Music Ministry — Contemporary Choir

Leads the congregation in prayer through modern worship songs, fostering a spirit of praise during the liturgy.

Leads the congregation in sung prayer, enhancing the beauty and reverence of the liturgy through music.

Mass Linens Volunteer

Washes and prepares Mass linens at home on a monthly rotation.

Mass Petition writer

Writes the prayer petitions for weekend Masses. Resources are provided.

Sacristan

Prepares the altar for Mass. Responsible for setting the altar, arranging liturgical items, and delivering the hosts to the altar from the Tabernacle during Mass. Sacristans are needed for weekend and weekday Masses, as well as funeral liturgies.

In the sanctuary, a priest and deacon stand at the altar with two men and two women, who are receiving a blessing.
